Somerset's hidden gem
Frome is the ideal touring centre for exploring some of the best of Somerset, and is within easy reach of Bath, Wells, Longleat, Stourhead, Glastonbury and Shaftesbury.
From the various markets to English Heritage Properties there is also a great deal to see and do in Frome itself.
Frome is a historic market town with more listed buildings than any other Somerset town. Built on steep hills with cobbled streets it is superbly preserved.
Nearby villages, Nunney and Farleigh Hungerford have wonderfully atmospheric ruined castles, and Mells is where the the nursery rhyme Little Jack Horner began and the burial place of First World War poet Siegfried Sassoon. More information on places to visit can be obtained either from Archangel or at the Tourist Information Centre, which is a short walk away.
