There’s more to pilates than just developing strong stomach muscles. As well as developing core strength, you can get a full body workout as well as improving your balance, muscle strength, flexibility and posture. In addition, the exercises are great for relieving back pain, stress and tension – perfect for getting yourself ready for the party season or for those looking to improve strength after surgery or childbirth.

Led by Mairi Connelly, a fully qualified instructor from the Pilates Institute in London, the course will look at strengthening core muscles and pelvic floor as well as giving practical steps to minimise back pain and breathing techniques to improve relaxation. You will be asked to complete an enrollment form to ensure that you only perform exercises that you can do safely.

Classes will take place in small groups with a maximum of eight people per class and there will be plenty of opportunity for discussion with Mairi on a one-to-one basis. Mats will be provided.
